All the birds are singing that you're gonna die...
As Logan Kroll walked into the bar the bells on the door jingled. People were sitting at tables in groups laughing at each other jokes. He walked over to the bar and sat down. "Sam, you really have to get rid of the bells. Makes it sound like I'm heading into a book store." Logan said with a sigh.
Sam laughed. "Well, it tells us when someone's coming in. Would you rather have jingle bells?"
"I'd rather have no bells." Logan said with a smile. "I'd like coffee. Black." He said.
Sam handed over the coffee to his friend. "I never did care for black coffee, but we do sell it here." He said with a shrug.
Logan smiled as he gulped down the coffee. "Another one? Make it scorching hot." He asked, handing over the money.
Sam raised his brows as he handed over the second coffee, scorching hot as Logan had said. He expected him to be keeping it for later, and just wanted it scorching so it would be warm when he drank it in a few hours. To his surprise Logan did the same as he did with the last, drank it in a swig like it was alcohol. Logan asked for a third, the same as the second and after swigging it down he nodded as if he was content. "Much better." He said to himself.
Sam's eyes were wide. "Logan, sometimes you amaze me. Hard to believe you're even human sometimes!"
Logan met Sam's eyes for a moment with a look that was meant to be "what if I'm not" but was interpreted by Sam as "offensive comments aren't my thing".
After a long moment of silence Sam spoke up, "Want anything else?"
Logan shook his head. "I"m fine." He glanced at his watch and slammed his fist on the bar standing up and running out the door into his car. The hippie painted vintage car was certainly unique. He had bought it back when automobiles were still new, and it had been the wonderful black color for quite a long time... until he got a job as an art teacher. For the class he taught everyone how to paint cars and it had become a neon coloured splash. Starting up the engine he began driving toward the high school.

Damien walked into Joe's, slightly dizzy from the new smells that he often found odd. His clothes were tattered and he had bits of leaves and twigs tangled in his hair.
"Why hello there stranger, fall alseep in the forest?" the man behind the counter asked.
"Yes actually. I've been hitch hiking for a whie and someone stole my tent for sleepin in." The man at the counter went to say something but Damien cut him off. "It's okay, it didn't rain last night."
"So, uh, can i get you anything?"
"Yeah actually..." Damien said pulling out a tattered wallet made of duck tape. "Could i get a coke?"
"Oh course sir." The man at the counter turned to the soda machine behind him and poured a tall glass of coke before handing the drink to the disshevelled man. "Anything else?"
"Well... a man just left in a multicolored car, i was wondering if you could tell me where he worked."
"Who Logan? He works over at the high school. Why, is he a friend of yours?" the man was quizical, though it seemed natural to Damien that the humans would be interested in a stranger asking about a teacher.
"You could say that." Damien said as he placed five dollars on the counter and grabbed the glass of coke and walked out of the door before the man realized his cup was stolen.
The walk to the school was relatively easy, and because of the car's unique paint job it was easy to find. All Damian had to do now was wait and find out what the pack in this area was like.

Sam put his head in his hands as she realized a cup had been taken. He could only hope his boss wouldn't notice. "Jack!" he called over to a man sitting across the bar.
The man stood up and hurried over to him. "Ya Sam?"
"Could you run me an errand? I need to replace a cup." Sam said.
"A cup?" Jack's quizzical look wasn't was Sam needed.
"Here. Take this money and go to the nearest appliance store. There should be cups there that looks like these." Sam explained, holding up a glass.
Jack shrugged and took the money, heading out the door. "Sure." He said. "Be back in a few."
